Welcome to the first of many glimpses into the past and present life of a Margate Brick. Hardworking and undoubtedly very skilled, the builders toiled tirelessly to construct buildings which were made to last.
Margate has such a rich abundance of amazing buildings, lovingly created and crafted at a time when Britain was undergoing major and very dynamic growth in the mid 1800s. The achievement of these great innovative pioneers cannot be overstated as they have provided us with such great buildings. A fantastic legacy to the craft of the Victorian builders.
Standards were high and never compromised. We, today have the privilege of being able to peek into the lives of these amazing craftsmen.
I will bring to you a glimpse into their world by publishing my photos of their work which remains today.
Aye, They don't build 'em like that anymore !
